Andy Clay, Managing Director (Mountain)

Mr. Clay is responsible for identifying development opportunities throughout the Mountain Region. He has worked in real-estate development and property management for more than 10 years, and has developed more than 2,400 units and managed more than 600 units in the Denver metro area. Mr. Clay serves on the Joint Legislative Action Committee for the Apartment Association of Metro Denver and is a voting member of its political funding arm, The Alliance. He received a Bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Colorado Christian University and is currently finishing post-graduate studies in financing at the University of Colorado.

David Lodwick, Regional CFO (Southwest/Mountain/South Texas)

As Chief Financial Officer of the Southwest, Mountain and South Texas regions, David Lodwick is responsible for identifying and managing joint-venture equity and debt financing, and working closely with our regional development team. Mr. Lodwick joined Alliance in 2011 as Finance Manager, focusing on identifying, negotiating, and closing debt and equity financing in the western U.S. Prior to that, he served as Director of Asset Management for DMB Associates with responsibility for managing a variety of office and retail assets; Senior Director for Opus West, where he was directly involved in closing more than $3.1 billion of debt and almost $1.8 billion in property sales across more than 200 transactions; Vice President of BBVA Compass with management oversight of a $200 million commercial real-estate portfolio; and Real Estate Researcher for CB Richard Ellis in the Valuation & Advisory Services group, where he was responsible for preparing appraisals for a wide variety of property types. A graduate of Arizona State University, Mr. Lodwick is also a certified appraiser and maintains a real estate license in the state of Arizona. He holds membership or board positions with a variety of civic, social and business associations, including the Real Estate Investment Advisory Council (REIAC), Urban Land Institute (ULI), Men’s Arts Council of the Phoenix Art Museum and EC70/Executive Council Charities.

Rocky Brown, Vice President of Construction (Mountain)

Rocky Brown serves as Vice President of Construction for the Mountain Region in Denver. Mr. Brown brings 30 years of multifamily experience to Alliance, with tenure at some of the most prominent national multifamily firms such as JPI, Hines Development, Actus Lend Lease and Trammel Crow Residential. During his career, Mr. Brown has been involved in the construction and development of more than 5,000 multifamily units and 1,200 military housing units. His expertise spans multiple product types from garden-style and podium, to wrap and mid-rise projects in major markets across the country including Phoenix, Tucson, Albuquerque, Washington D.C., Seattle, Houston and Denver.  Mr. Brown is a member of AIA, NAHB and has held a contractor’s license in Arizona, Virginia, Colorado and Washington.

Management

Carol Nelson, Senior Vice President (Mountain)

As Vice President of the Mountain region, Carol Nelson is responsible for supervising operations throughout Utah and Colorado. Ms. Nelson has more than 24 years of experience in the industry. She has received numerous awards, including “Regional Manager of the Year” in 2006, “Commitment to Excellence” in 2007 and 2008, and “Utah Apartment Association Property Supervisor of the Year” in 2007. Ms. Nelson graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management,  is a licensed real estate agent and broker in Utah, and has a CPM designation.

Emelia Dziadon, Regional Vice President of Operations (Mountain)

As Regional Vice President, Emelia Dziadon is responsible for directing operations at all Alliance communities in Colorado. With more than 20 years of experience as a successful supervisor of regional and on-site teams, Ms. Dziadon’s background ranges from new developments, rehabilitations and dispositions to operating traditional, affordable, lease-up and stabilized multifamily communities across Colorado and Texas. Before joining Alliance, she was Vice President of Property Management at CCI and before that, Regional Manager with Greystar/Riverstone Residential Group. Ms. Dziadon holds a real estate license in Texas and attended Morehead State University.

Charles Patten, Regional Vice President of Operations (Mountain)

As Regional Vice President of Operations, Charles Patten will have direct oversight of operations for a growing portfolio Idaho, and will lead four regional managers in overseeing over 25 assets in Utah. Mr. Patten started with Alliance in June 2015 as a Regional Manager overseeing seven assets. A graduate of the University of Utah with a degree in business management, Mr. Patten holds an accredited regional manager (ARM) certification through the Institute of Real Estate Management and has more than 15 years of real-estate experience.

Alex Sampson, Director of Business Development (Southwest/Mountain)

Alex Sampson is the Director of Business Development for the Southwest and Mountain regions. In this role, he is responsible for Alliance’s overall expansion efforts, developing new and existing client relationships and sourcing new opportunities for the company’s third-party management platform. Prior to joining Alliance, Mr. Sampson worked with top-ranked institutional and private capital firms across the Southwest, including Colliers International and Berkadia Real Estate Advisors. Since 2010, he has sold 11,000+ units at a market value of $719 million across Arizona, Nevada, California, New Mexico, West Texas and Washington. Mr. Sampson graduated from The University of Nebraska – Lincoln with a bachelor’s in Business Administration.
