Alliance Residential Expanded its Strategic Partnership with Project Destined to Mentor Underserved Students to Become the Next Generation of Commercial Real Estate Leaders

Program focused on diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging expands to Atlanta.

May 26, 2023 – ATLANTA – Alliance Residential, one of the largest and most active rental residential real estate developers in the United States, expanded its partnership with Project Destined in the Atlanta, Ga. market supporting 10 diverse students for the spring 2023 semester. Alliance Residential first partnered with Project Destined in Phoenix, Arizona in 2022 to support the expansion of the social impact platform. Alliance has a significant presence in the Atlanta area, as well as many other southeast locations, and plans to partner closely with local schools and students to help educate future leaders in the real estate industry.

Project Destined leverages a work-based learning approach where students join executives to evaluate actual commercial real estate deals in their community and compete in a pitch competition to industry leaders to earn scholarships. Alliance Residential’s seasoned mentors will prepare, engage, and guide students one-on-one to help them develop a range of fundamentals—including financial, technical, presentation and leadership skills—designed to aid them in obtaining internships, certifications and full-time employment, launching their careers in commercial real estate.

Alliance’s partnership with Project Destined aligns with its diversity, equity and inclusion mission. Alliance firmly believes that true success comes when people with different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives and beliefs come together to create unique value and drive innovation. Supporting increased exposure to real estate education, financial literacy and entrepreneurship, to students who might not otherwise have access is critical to the evolution of our industry.

“Supporting strong and diverse future leaders in the real estate industry through our partnership with Project Destined is key to ensuring not only that the students grow, but also that we enable the best and brightest talent available. The value of supporting expanded education on critical real estate fundamentals to interested students cannot be understated. It is a fantastic and mutually beneficial relationship for all parties involved and fills a substantial need that has been missing for far too long in the industry. We are proud to work with such a pivotal organization,” said Sherida Colvin, Senior Vice President of People Operations.

“We are excited to partner with Alliance Residential to introduce this incredible group of students to potential careers in Commercial Real Estate,” said Project Destined Co-Founder Cedric Bobo. “Our industry provides a broad range of career alternatives that also enable you to impact your community. Our partnership with Alliance Residential will ensure that these students are aware of these opportunities and ready to take on that challenge.”
