Alliance Residential Company Rehires Justin Donaldson to Lead Mid-Atlantic Development

Justin Donaldson returns as Managing Director – Mid-Atlantic (DMV) to advance Alliance Residential Company’s growth strategy across the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region.

WASHINGTON, (March 23, 2026) – Alliance Residential Company is pleased to announce that Justin Donaldson has rejoined the company as Managing Director – Mid-Atlantic (DMV) to lead development efforts across the Washington, Maryland, and Virginia region. Donaldson will focus on sourcing new investment opportunities and managing the full development process as Alliance advances its presence in the DMV market.

Donaldson originally joined the company in May 2021 and founded the Washington, D.C. office, and his return marks a renewed commitment to expanding Alliance’s development pipeline in one of the nation’s most active and competitive real estate markets.

“Justin was instrumental in getting our DMV operation off the ground, and his return brings a level of market depth and relationship capital that is difficult to replicate,” said Donald Santos, Alliance Residential Company Senior Managing Director – East. “He has spent the past several years closing complex deals and building a strong track record in this region. We are confident his leadership will accelerate our development activity and strengthen Alliance’s position across the region.”

“Coming back to Alliance feels like a natural next step,” said Donaldson. “The DMV market continues to show strong fundamentals — driven by a deep talent base, resilient demand drivers, and a transportation infrastructure that supports long-term growth. I look forward to building on the work we started here and identifying the right opportunities to grow Alliance’s pipeline across Washington, Maryland, and Virginia.”

Prior to rejoining Alliance, Donaldson served as a Senior Director at Greystar, where he managed a portfolio of ground-up development projects totaling more than $750 million in capitalization. During his tenure at Greystar, he closed two projects in the region: a 389-unit community in Richmond, Virginia, and a 200-unit community in Bethesda, Maryland. Before joining Alliance the first time, he worked for JBG Smith, where he developed the Amazon HQ2 project in Arlington, Virginia, and an apartment community in Reston. Prior to that, he conducted market feasibility analyses for real estate developers. He holds his master’s in real estate from Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies and a Bachelor of Science in finance from Miami University in Ohio.
